The Real Deal Part 2

by Incredible Articles - Last Modified: 11/23/2007

irst, my mistake I should have checked the name wasn't taken. My apologies, everyone. So I've posted P2 here.
After the rigorous exercise routine, seeing that you didn't wimp out and run home,
I'll show you some basic stances, the right way to punch, kick and demonstrate easy to use techniques.Like 1 technique called 'thought without thought'.
Then, I'll pad you up from head to toe, in body armor consisting of:

A helmet
padded gloves,
arm pads,
knee pads,
groin guard,
mouth guard,
chest protector,
eye protectors,
shin guards etc.

After your all geared up, I'll introduce you to Tony.He loves to fight. He loves to kill.Maim.Maul.And is convicted of G.B.H. more than once.Well, you'll get to meet him fists and feet first. And he's not wearing any sissy armor.Well maybe a groin guard, just in case you react and give him a cheap shot.
It happens.Fear can do that to someone...Reminds me of an Article in 'Inside Kung Fu' Magazine I read years ago.Sorry just going to wander off track for a moment...

A top fighter was in the ring against a bigger, meaner fighter. And he was scared of this guy.He really believed this guy was going to kill him.In fact he almost bet his life on it. So, the bell rings, and he comes out of his corner...His heart's pumping big time,he's sweating fear.Ding Ding Ding ! The rounds over...The Ref's waving his hands, and counting.

Next minute he grabs the guy's hand that was scared and announces him the winner. The guys thinking.."What the hell's happened?" So he looks down, sees the mean looking guy. He's out .He soon realized, his own fear, the fear of getting knocked senseless gave him that edge.
See,a guy who's frightened and never fought in his life, say a real wimp ,can mess up the techniques of a pro trained fighter.A wimp swinging his arms around without thought, may just get lucky out of pure fear, and strike the better fighter a deadly blow. It's purely a survival thing.

OK, let's continue where our story left off...
in Part 3...at: http://www.therealmonty.blogspot.com

Woah! Why such direct brutality?
Because, fighting is instantaneous and never static. You stand still, you're going to get hit.Knocked the hell out.Period.
Everyone learns and perfects distance fighting. You need the room to do all those fancy Jacky Chan type kicks. If you don't, they're useless. You get a guy that relies on those kind of kicks in a lift, with a seasoned boxer, it's goodnight, Irene.
Because he's been classically trained, and never learnt 'in-fighting', or fighting from as close to an opponent as you can get, first.
Bruce Lee taught this concept. As you sparred, and got familiar with close ln-fighting, you learnt distance, timing power etc...
By gradually moving out and away from your opponent (sparring partner) after a few months of intense training. As you moved out, and got better, and more confident in your skills, you lost so much armor, until eventually you could 'spar' with no protection and no fear. You'd be out of your comfort zone, and have no fear of getting hit.
That's why Martial Arts is a Sport.Lots of protection, and rules.Fair enough, some are needed.Maybe a little too many.Makes a man rely on rules to much.So when in a real defensive situation, he can't function properly, freezes up, and gets beaten to a pulp...
Bruce Lee once stated, "If you don't spar, it's like swimming on dry land."
