Wedding Favors

by Incredible Articles - Last Modified: 10/24/2007

edding favors add to the theme and décor of the reception. They can range from simple to elegant depending upon the size of your budget. You do not have to spend a lot of money to have favors that your guests will treasure.

Whether you hire a company to handle the many details involved or you recruit help from family and friends everyone will have an opinion on the perfect wedding favor. Wedding favors can be edible, seasonal, theme oriented or fun. Some popular ideas are Jordan almonds wrapped in tissue paper or white netting, a small box of chocolate wrapped in wedding paper with a pretty bow, handmade sachets, seed packages or theme cookies. The options are unlimited when it comes to wedding favors. Be creative, look through wedding magazines and talk to your friends.

There are two ways to distribute guest wedding favors. Wedding favors can be placed at each wedding reception guest's place setting to take along whenever they leave or elegantly displayed on a table near the entrance to the wedding reception venue where the bridge and groom will be toward the end of the reception. As guests say goodbye to the couple, they can thank each guest for coming by giving them the favor or telling them to take one when they leave.

You can purchase very expensive wedding favors from numerous companies and upscale department stores. You can order personalized candle sets, coffee sets, crystal and glass items, small picture frames, silver dolphin bottle openers, bath beads or decorative soaps, and the list goes on.

Are you on a limited budget? You can make your own favors and turn the event into an evening of fun for the ladies in your bridal party. Just make sure they know the purpose of the evening is to help you make the wedding favors.

Once you decided on the wedding favor, you should go out and purchase all of the supplies and items you need before the party. Prepare a few of the wedding favors to show as examples to everyone and to pass around. Your friends will be able to visually see the item that you want and you will not be leaving anything to misinterpretation. The evening will pass quickly with everyone talking and making wedding favors and within a few hours this project will be completed and ready for your big day.

End your evening with a light buffet or pizza party to thank your recruits for the time and energy they provided to help you.
