In answer to a Parent's Prayer

by Article Writer - Last Modified: 10/19/2007

f all the responsibilities that a father assumes, finding a suitable partner for his little princess is by far the most demanding task of them all, more so because he knows that marriage is the starting point of a new journey, an odyssey that will last her for the rest of her life.

I have seen her grow up in front of my eyes, but for me she will always remain my 'little bundle of joy'. And now that the time has come for her to go and build her family, putting into practice the teachings I imparted her, I feel extremely anxious, afraid that I may not be able to find her a suitable confidant who will stay by her side till the end of time.

As a father, the task of entrusting my daughter to another man is heart-rending enough, but what really makes me anxious is finding her the right companion. My search is for someone who does not only know her, but who understands her and accepts her for the person she is.

I want to find her a companion who will accompany her on her favorite walks in the rain, who may not pamper her with material extravagances, but who will spoil her with some of life's most cherished moments, a partner who understands that sometimes she deliberately makes mistakes, just to be corrected by a caring friend.

And to find her that 'prince charming', I am ready to transgress all possible geographical boundaries. However, I often flinch knowing that a single lifetime may not be sufficient for this search, if undertaken physically. Where would I begin to search and where should I look to find him? I would not like my search to be limited by traditional matchmaking, which depends on staid classified advertisements and the outdated database of local marriage bureaus.

What gives me solace is the fact that the match making industry in India has undergone a complete revamp. For fathers like me there are online matrimonial sites like Shaadi.com, ensuring that I find this right person, no matter where in the world he may be located.

Shaadi.com, India matrimonials site was the first company of its kind in this line of business, and has been around for 10 years now. Today the site enjoys the first mover advantage not just in terms of brand recognition and acceptability but also in terms of brand presence.

And I would definitely want to find someone who matches my daughter in all aspects, for which purpose Shaadi.com has provided tools like â€" AstroSoulmate Search, Professional Search, Shaadi Toolbar, etc.

With a member base of over 10 million and 300 million page views per month I am sure that very soon my daughter's success story will feature among the over 8,01,764 successful Indian marriages that have materialized through Shaadi.com.
It is rightly said, that a daughter's wedding, is a father's most happiest and saddest day at the same time. And the beginning of this event is finding the right match, which is by far the most important and the most difficult task of it all. As my daughter gets ready to embark on her conjugal voyage, this is my prayer for her…

"May he be the shoulder you can lean on, the hand that will guide you through,
May he always give you a reason to smile, more so when you're feeling blue
This is my prayer for you my child, my beautiful princess,
On life's this new journey, I wish you nothing but the best."
