Divorce

by Incredible Articles - Last Modified: 11/23/2007

was not surprising. There were few in town whose lives had not been negatively impacted by this menace. Seemingly, there was nothing local government or the police force could do to apprehend the wily culprit. No pattern had emerged by which to predict where or who would be struck next.

It had a frightening disregard for all human life. The suddenness of attack and utter devastation it wrought overwhelmed even its most stalwart foes. The few who survived spent years trying to recover from their wounds. It was impossible to protect children from the creature, because, in their innocence, they couldn't comprehend such evil. People were reluctant to mention it in public or would try to temper their fear by acting as if everything was normal and under control. But nothing was normal or predictable while it lurked, hell knows where.

In the past the media had dubbed such stalkers of human life with names like 'the Boston Strangler', 'Son of Sam', or 'Jack the Ripper'. But nothing this diabolical with such unrelenting malice and a penchant for revenge had ever been known. So, in hushed tones people simply referred to the creature as . . . divorce.
