What Dark Energy

by Incredible Articles - Last Modified: 10/26/2007

propose to show by simple logic that the
theories of Big Bang and Dark Energy are
incompatible and cannot exist simultaneously. You
cannot have both Big Bang and Dark Energy.

The Big Bang theory teaches that about 15 billion
years ago all matter in the Universe was
compressed into extremely hot and dense entity
called the Cosmic Egg. Then it suddenly blew up
in a monstrous explosion, which is called the Big
Bang. While moving away at enormous speed, the
uncorked disheveled particles rapidly assembled
into atoms, which eventually organized into
galaxies, which today still move apart, although
being slowed down by the combined gravitation of
other galaxies.

The Big Bang was preceded by the Big Crunch event,
during which all matter in the Universe was
compressed by gravity into the Cosmic Egg.

We now live in what I shall refer to as the
present Universe. The Big Bang theory teaches
that before the last Big Bang and the preceding
Big Crunch there existed a previous Universe,
which was brought into existence by the previous
Big Bang, preceded by the previous Big Crunch.
Before that there existed a pre-previous Universe,
and so forth. All the previous Universes were
similar to the present one. They all operated
under the same laws of nature. They were all
composed of the same amount of the available
matter/energy, which was merely recycled into
different galaxies, but could not be created out
of nothing or destroyed.

At the end of the last century the astronomers
noticed that certain very bright Supernovae,
designated as Type Ia, were receding much faster
than the Big Bang theory predicted. From that the
astronomers concluded that the expansion of our
Universe was not slowing down, but was actually
increasing. To explain this they proposed Dark
Energy, a mysterious substance causing the
gravitational repulsion of all matter/energy.

Here comes my simple logical argument. Assume,
for the sake of argument, that Dark Energy exists
in the present Universe and causes it to expand
at an ever accelerating rate. If Dark Energy also
existed in the previous Universe (operating under
the same laws of nature), it would have caused it
to expand at an ever accelerating rate, thereby
preventing the Big Crunch from ever happening.
And without the preceding Big Crunch there could
have been no Cosmic Egg, no Big Bang, and our
present Universe could never have been born. Dark
Energy in the previous Universe would have
prevented the last Big Bang from happening. We
would not exist.

The simplest explanation under Occam's Razor is
that the Big Bang theory was invalidated by the
above mentioned astronomical observations of the
Supernovae.

away the Dark Matter.
