Astronomy has Included Disciplines

by Incredible Articles - Last Modified: 12/04/2007

stronomy is the scientific study of celestial objects (such as stars, planets, comets, and galaxies) and phenomena that originate outside the Earth's atmosphere (such as the cosmic background radiation). Astronomy and astrophysics have developed significant interdisciplinary links with other major scientific fields. Astronomy is defined as the scientific study of matter in outer space; particularly the positions, dimensions, distribution, motion, composition, energy, and evolution of celestial bodies (planets, stars) and other phenomena. Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences.

Energy

Cosmic rays consisting of very high energy particles can be observed hitting the Earth's atmosphere. The outer layers form a convection zone where the gas material transports energy primarily through physical displacement of the gas. Above the core is the radiation zone, where the plasma conveys the energy flux by means of radiation. Dark matter and dark energy are the current leading topics in astronomy, as their discovery and controversy originated during the study of the galaxies. An active galaxy is a formation that is emitting a significant amount of its energy from a source other than stars, dust and gas; and is powered by a compact region at the core, usually thought to be a super-massive black hole that is emitting radiation from in-falling material. When the first atoms formed, space became transparent to radiation, releasing the energy viewed today as the microwave background radiation. The mysterious force behind the acceleration has been dubbed "dark energy. And even though dark energy dominates the universe, we know nothing about it, yet.

Lunar

Lunar eclipses occur when the moon moves entirely into the Earth's shadow so that the sun's rays cannot reach our planet's natural satellite. A part of the planetary and lunar theory of the astronomers of Maragha was later utilized by Copernicus, though scholars do not know how he gained access to this material. Authentic simulation of the Apollo lunar landings and includes accurate renditions of scenery, flight dynamics and the lunar module. With lunar/planetary, you have tons of light, but you have to magnify greatly, and because you have to magnify greatly, atmospheric seeing is a huge problem. There are two completely different types of astrophotography: lunar/planetary, and deep sky. Total lunar eclipses typically occur every couple of years, but this year there will have been two, with the other having taken place on March 3. Though the moon is in full shadow during a lunar eclipse, indirect sunlight still illuminates it to viewers.

Astronomy is a science that studies everything outside of the earth's atmosphere, such as planets, stars, asteroids, galaxies; and the properties and relationships of those celestial bodies. Astronomy is the study of the stars, planets, and other objects in space. Theoretical astronomy is oriented towards the development of computer or analytical models to describe astronomical objects and phenomena. Historically, astronomy has included disciplines as diverse as astrometry, celestial navigation, observational astronomy, the making of calendars, and even astrology, but professional astronomy is nowadays often considered to be identical with astrophysics.
