What Are The Benefits of Affiliate Marketing

by Incredible Articles - Last Modified: 11/23/2007

ne of the most effective ways to sell product on the Internet is through Affiliate Marketing. Also, for anyone with a website, it is one of the easiest ways to make a profit. The webmaster makes an agreement with a merchant to be his/her affiliate which allows the webmaster to promote the merchant's products by linking to the merchant's website. In the real world this would be like having sales representatives; referred to as, reps. Reps and affiliates are payed by commission. Affiliates are paid every time someone clicks on the affiliate's website link and proceeds to the merchant's website to make a purchase. This is equivalent to a rep filling out a sales order and sending it to the merchant for expediting. Affiliates are independent contractors who sell other people's products. .

The affiliate/merchant agreement can be described as a win-win situation for all concerned because of the commissions-for-performance system. The affiliate is free to sell for several merchants and the merchant only pays when a sale is made, which gives both parties the best of both worlds. The merchant has a deeper market share with representation from several affiliates while the affiliates are able to represent several merchants in return. The buyer is also benefited by the greater ease in finding a product. Affiliate marketing is like the the door-to-door salesmen of a few years ago.
.
Affiliate marketers benefit from this relationship because it is an easy way to make a profit. They can put up several websites and sell hundreds of products. The affiliate simply links to the merchant's website then rounds up prospective customers which will hopefully open the link to the merchant and proceed to make a purchase. It's like finding prospects and referring them to the merchant for the sale.
